The
world oldest musical instrument "BONE FLUTE"
(estimated at about 43,000 up to 82,000 years old)
was recently found in Slovenija by dr. Ivan TURK
(a paleontologist at the Slovenian
Academy of Sciences in Ljubljana). |

A
part of the flute made from a bone of a young cave bear
(exhibited
at the Narodni muzej Slovenije/National Museum of Slovenia)
was recently found in Slovenia. Four holes of the instrument
with the right arrangement for fingers, are visible. Regardless
of the continuing discussion on the nature and origin of
Neanderthals, one thing is for certain: They had developed
an interesting culture and obviously had a rich social life.
Recent discovery of the bone flute in Slovenia is believed
to be at least 10,000 years older than the previous similar
finds. |
